When to File Form 2290
The Form 2290 tax year runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
From July of each year, the applicable due date is at August 31 for filing Form 2290 and remittance of the HVUT for vehicles first used during July.
From vehicles first used in August and thereafter, the applicable due date is the last day of the month following the first use month.

First used in October → File and pay by November 30.
